(Kelly Strack)

Beauty blogger and YouTube star Kelly Strack basically has our dream job: playing with makeup for a living. Okay, she does way more than that (especially to keep her 879K subscribers and 190K Instagram followers entertained and coming back for more), but we have to admit we’re jealous.

We recently highlighted Kelly’s favorite makeup gifts for the holidays and now she’s back, sharing her very detailed winter skincare regimen. If there’s one thing that 2021 has provided us with thus far (world affairs aside), it’s dry skin. And we have Mother Nature to thank for that.

A parched, thirsty epidermis may be inevitable in January, but it’s never a good look. Plus, if you don’t do your due diligence to keep your face hydrated and well moisturized, pre-mature aging and fine lines could be the result, which no one wants.

Check out Kelly’s tips and product recommendations below, to get your skin in check asap.

I like to focus on deeply hydrating and nourishing products for my skin, since it can get extremely dry in the winter months.

What’s your step-by-step skincare routine?

I am always changing the products that I use (and trying new ones), but the steps I do always stays the same. Here’s an example:

What’s a mistake people make when it comes to winter skin?

Using too many harsh products without adequately moisturizing the skin.

Any go-to brands you swear by in the winter?

Murad, SkinCeuticals and Fresh are some of my go-tos!

How do you layer your skincare in the winter?

I try not to overload my skin with products because my skin is more on the sensitive side. In the morning I like to do toner eye cream and moisturizer. At night I like to do serum, eye cream and moisturizer.

What do you do to combat maskne?

I try not to wear make up underneath my mask whenever possible. I also make sure to cleanse my skin immediately after wearing a mask for a long period of time. I also wash my masks each time after using them to try and kill any bacteria.
