It turns out she hasn’t exactly been keeping her beauty rituals a secret. “I’m actually one of those people that really enjoys taking care of their skin,” Zoe said in an interview with Allure. “I don’t see it as work, but really just as part of life, just like brushing your teeth.” Noted!

ICYMI, Saldana grew up splitting her childhood between New York City and the Dominican Republic. And yes, a dual-location upbringing played a role in the way she views her beauty and skincare routine.
“If you live in the islands, you get a coconut, and you use every part of that coconut,” the actress told Byrdie. “You drink the water, you make food with the meat, you can squeeze it and make coconut milk, and that milk you can put on your skin, on your hair. And then you can make coconut oil and coconut butter. I grew up using the environment to its full potential,” she said. We love to see it.

My skin’s not very sensitive, but because I travel so much, it sometimes reacts to the change in environments.” The best part of this info? Zoe’s face wash fav is super cheap and drugstore accessible.
Her go-to beauty tool is very low key.
While they’re very much a ~trend~ right now, Saldana doesn’t spend her time or money on high-tech beauty tools. Instead, she opts for simpler methods. Her go-to? A plain washcloth or small towel, the actress said. “I buy them in bulk every time I go to Costco,” Zoe explained and, yes, you can get your hands on some, too. (For cheap!)
She’s into ‘all-natural’ skin and haircare.
BTW, the Avatar star says that her time in New York City helped her learn how to create DIY products and food-based wellness treatments. “I was always taught to take pride in the way that I clean and maintain myself,” Zoe said about her NYC life in an interview with Stylecaster. “I think using a lot of home remedies and natural products like olive oil and things that are super pure like shea butter are things I learned growing up as a New Yorker.” So yeah, Zoe doesn’t stray away from the basics that have proven benefits, even thought she could get her hands on just about any product.
